Undermanned LCH Braves pulls victory against Shake ‘N Bake, 66-59. The game started slowly and it was Shake ‘N Bake opportunity to get the first “W” but their star player was a no show.  There were several lead changes but in the end, LCH Braves has a better closing strategy. Carlo Lacsamana led the LCH Braves with his 36pts and had seven 3pointers with the help from Frank’s 18pts. Shake N’ Bake had 3 players in double-digit points, Enrique Gudoy, Carlos Santos, and Terry Bermillo.

The powerhouse of the league, St. Jude prevailed over Dragons, 77-72. My first time to see the bench filled at 80%. Both teams played very well from the very start. It looked as if Dragons was going to pull the upset they led 7pts over St. Jude at the 1st half. Who would have thought that St. Jude would be using the 3-2 defense against the Dragon, whom used the same “D” in the 1st half. Well, it worked for St. Jude and Dragons collapsed. As St Jude took the lead with 10mins left, Dragons was not able to recover and trailed until the end of the game. St. Jude had 4 players in 2 digits starting with Eugene’s 22pts, Mark’s 20pts, Rommel’s 14pts and Lightning Macoy’s 11pts. Joel Sales led the Dragons with his 21pts with the help of Mike’s 19pts and 13pts from Vince Encelan.

Team Agents upsets the team who’s on a winning streak, R-A-C, 57-53. Slow start for both team but got it going. R-A-C outscored Team Agent in the first half. Fortunately, Captain Ron Usac found the formula and was able to utilize all the players who never give up until took the lead. Surprisingly,   Captain Mark Soriano from R-A-C did not make adjustment. Team Agents was led Terrance Canete’s 15pts, followed by a 16pts from Patrick Benedicto and 10pts from Sonny “Kobe” Ibay. Mark Soriano led the R-A-C with his 16pt, which 15pts is from the promise land.

NOTABLE: St. Jude still holds total points of 96 in one game. Carlo Lacsamana made it tougher for the record breaker(s) as he finished 36ts and seven 3pointers.  As we approach the 2nd round of the league, St. Jude has been marked as the dominating team with a 5-0 record followed by the Dragons 4-1, while 3 teams are in the bubble for 3rd and 4th spot depending on the outcome of their rematch. They are LCH Braves, R-A-C, and Team Agents. Unfortunately, Shake ‘N Bake is still looking for their first win.
